Papyrus

Papyrus is made from the Cyperus papyrus, a plant that has grown for thousands of years in the marshy areas of the Nile Delta and played a central role in Egyptian civilization.
The skill of processing papyrus into paper has been handed down through generations in Egypt.
After harvesting, the pith of the stem is cut into fine strips and soaked, then laid out in two layers, crosswise.
The natural sap of the plant acts as a binding agent. After pressing and finishing, a smooth, firm sheet is created, ideal for writing and drawing, without the ink bleeding.
